This is largely thanks to their Galaxy S line up of devices which ahs found its way onto just about every major wireless carrier in the United States. One of these devices is the Samsung Fascinate on Verizon Wireless which, like all the other Galaxy S phones, has garnered positive reception.
However, seeing how it’s a Galaxy S phone it’s also seen some delays when it comes to Android updates. Luckily, the Android ‘Froyo’ 2.2 update is expected to be pushed out in in the near future with Gingerbread update hopefully coming soon after. But, if you’re a developer and are looking for something to hold you over until the next version of Android is pushed out you’re in luck.
The reason I say this is because Samsung has just released the source code for the Samsung Fascinate’s Android 2.2.1 update. This means you’ll be able to tinker with the code and customize the phone to your hearts extent. It also means that once a developer gets their hands on it we will soon see a more official Froyo build for the Fascinate.
