After Aakash Tablet launch by kapil sibal and the news of investing crores of rupess in indian internet technology tommrow Kapil sibal is likely to introduce the first 4G service in india Via Airtel.


Bharti Airtel is likely to launch broadband wireless access (BWA) services based on 4G technology in Kolkata tomorrow, expected to be inaugurated by Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal.

"The company has requested Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal to launch the service. He is expected to be there tomorrow," a source said.

The company had plans to launch this service in March but it got delayed because of the minister's busy schedule during Parliament session, sources said.

Airtel has roped in Chinese telecom equipment maker ZTE to plan, design, supply and deploy its BWA network in Kolkata. It has potential to provide download speeds of around 100 Megabits per second when an user is on the move, and can go up to 1 Gigabits per second at a fixed location.

The telecom major has appointed Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) for building and operating network in the Maharashtra circle using TD-LTE -- one of the 4G technologies.

With the launch in Kolkata, Airtel will become the first company to start 4G wireless services in the country.

The company had won BWA spectrum in 2010 for four telecom circles -- Kolkata, Maharashtra, Punjab and Karnataka and had paid Rs 3,314.36 crore.

The company was allocated 20 Mhz of BWA spectrum in 2.3 Ghz frequency band which is considered suitable for transmitting signals for operating 4G services.

In the same auction, Reliance Infotel (then Infotel Broadband Services) had won a 20 Mhz slot pan-India BWA spectrum for Rs 12,847.71 crore but the company is yet to announce its plan for rolling out services.

Qualcomm, Tikona, Aircel and Augere have also won BWA spectrum in some circles.

Public sector companies BSNL and MTNL were allocated one slot of BWA spectrum in their respective circles on payment of amount equivalent to the highest bidder in the service area.

Confirmed: Apple's iPhone 4S to come to India on Nov 25 OR iPhone 4s price in india and launch date in india

Here comes the confirmation from Aircel that Apple's iPhone 4S will hit the Indian shores on November 25. Now, Aircel has announced on its Facebook page that it is bringing the iPhone 4S to India on November 25. The post on the the Aircel's official Facebook page reads as, "ANNOUNCING the date Aircel is bringing iPhone 4S to India : NOV 25 !"

Earlier, November 24 was rumoured to be the release date, but our observation directly pointed towards November 25. We observed that Apple, this year, had always chosen Friday as the day to launch its products in the Indian market. Firstly, the company launched Apple's first generation iPad in India on January 28 (Friday). It was followed by the launch of the iPad 2 on April 29 (Friday) and the iPhone 4 on May 27 (again, a Friday)!

This time also, Apple's recently launched iPhone 4S will land in India on Friday.

According to sources, the iPhone 4S will be comparatively expensive and will start from close to Rs 40,000 for the 16GB model and cross Rs 50,000 for the high-end 64GB model.

Earlier, Airtel and Aircel were the two carriers, which launched the iPhone 4 in India. The 16GB and 32GB variants of the iPhone 4 would cost Rs 34,500 and Rs 40,900, respectively in India.

You should be able to get your hands on an iPhone 4S in India on November 24th, says BGR, who have had a knack of predicting Apple's India-related launches in the past.

News is that it will not be getting any cheaper, with the 8GB iPhone 4 retailing for around Rs 30,000.

The pricing is expected to be more or less in line with prevailing exchange rates. For unlocked iPhones, the 3GS starts at $375, and goes up to $849. Add a safe $50 markup for tax and duties to the $549 iPhone 4, and you'd arrive at a figure close to Rs 30,000.

As per their current pricing structure, you're looking at a minimum $100 markup for every incremental iPhone in the line-up. Also, you shouldn't be surprised when the present 16 and 32GB versions go out of stock soon. So if you plan to buy one in that size, now is a good time.

Google’s social network, Google+, might be one of the fastest-growing networks ever, having already reached 10 million users according to one estimate.
Paul Allen, of Ancestry.com – not to be confused with Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen – has developed an interesting methodology to calculate the number of Google+ members.
He sampled a number of surnames from the U.S. Census Bureau data and compared it to surnames of Google+ users. By comparing surname popularity in the U.S. with the number of users on Google+ with each surname, he can guesstimate the percentage of the U.S. population that signed up for Google+. Finally, he calculated a ratio of U.S. to non-U.S. users to generate an estimate for the number of Google+ users worldwide.
The result? According to Allen’s estimates, Google+ has approximately 9.5 million users worldwide, with 2.2 million joining in the past 32 to 34 hours.
This is amazing growth even for a giant such as Google: We cannot remember any social network reaching so many members so quickly after its release.
Coming from a third party, the data is obviously unofficial (we asked Google for comment on these numbers, but haven’t yet heard from them) and should be taken with a grain of salt. If they’re true, though, they indicate that – after so many stumbles – Google might finally be conquering the social networking arena.
